Position Available: Immediately
Primary Purpose: To safeguard the health and well-being of KMC staff and patients by providing primary and specialty healthcare services. Assess and diagnose patients, order laboratory tests, prescribe medications, and manage health conditions. Educate patients on how to make healthy lifestyle choices and conduct clinical and/or wellness education for KMC employees.
Clinical Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Conduct health assessments including recording compete medical and psychosocial history.

Record symptoms

Physically examine patients
-
Make diagnoses
-
Develop a treatment plan that may include medication and other therapies.

Collaborate with other healthcare providers, including physicians and nurses.

Order and interpret laboratory test results.
-
Follow up on a patient to determine the effectiveness of recommended treatments.
Employee Health Duties and Responsibilities
-
Together with KMC Infection Prevention and Medical Staff, oversee vaccinations efforts for employees and community needs, including but not limited to, the KMC COVID-19 vaccination effort.

Coordinate and provide direct care to employees for new hire and annual exam to include:
-
Ensure employee PPD/TB screening remains active and current and that treatment, when indicated, is performed in accordance with existing policies and procedures.

FIT testing, at hire and no less than annually, is completed and recorded
-
Employee immunization compliance, in accordance with existing KMC policies and procedures
-
Epidemiological follow up
-
Create and maintain current employee health records within the KMC EMR
-
Provide direct care to employees with exposures to possible communicable disease including, but not limited to, blood and body fluids. This will be done collaboratively with guidance from the KMC
-
Infection Prevention and in accordance with existing KMC policies and procedures.

Actively participate in the creation, implementation, and enforcement of policies and procedures or employee health related to infection control and prevention. Together with the KMC Infection
-
Prevention, will ensure KMC policies and procedures remain up to date with current guidelines and standards.

Assume ownership of the employee health registry form to track compliance of PPD/Tb screening, FIT testing, and employee immunization status. This will be updated no less than monthly, in conjunction with KMC Infection Prevention.

Actively participate in the hospital safety and infection control committees and interface with the personnel responsible for those committees.

Comply with all hospital and departmental policies and procedures, safety program requirements, event reporting process, corporate compliance program standards of conduct, and all applicable statutes, rules and regulations.

Collaborate with KMC Infection Prevention to generate statistical reports on tuberculosis, flu, and other epidemiological investigative reports.

Ensure compliance with reporting to state agencies, as well as Human Resources and the KMC Safety Officer, of potential employee exposures to communicable disease consistent with KMC policy and procedures.

Collaborate with Employee Health and Staff Education Coordinator in the delivery of clinical and/or wellness education to KMC employees.

Education/Training:

Current Physician Assistant or Nursing Practitioner license.

Current CPR Certification.
Experience:

Minimum one year of primary care experience in the last 5 years.
