Status: Part-Time, Sunday and Wednesday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30p.m.
Date: August 4, 2020
Primary Purpose: Under the direction of the Materials Management Supervisor, the supply clerk is responsible for the accurate researching, ordering, receiving, keying, and taking inventory of medical and non-medical supplies throughout the Medical Center as well as other basic inventory management functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Receive goods and shipment.

Maintain adequate stock levels at all times for supplies or common items and monitor expiration dates.

Maintain inventory and dispose of expired supplies.

Inspect incoming merchandise.
-
Organize and distribute inventory.
-
Carries out procedures involved in purchasing, storing and dispensing supplies and medical equipment.

Completes and submits purchasing orders to vendors after Administrator’s approval.

Handles correspondence and claims concerning damaged goods, errors and returns merchandise to vendor when required.

Receives, reviews requisitions from departments for major equipment.

Acquires approval from Department Head and Administrator prior to placing any orders.

Research new products, their uses and techniques and informs department heads.

Investigates economy purchasing through GPO, comparative pricing, bulk pricing to secure highest quality for the lowest possible cost.

Review policies and procedures for purchasing/procurement, materials management and contract management.
Physical Demands:

Working in varying degrees of temperature

Extensive physical activity. Heavy lifting, pushing and pulling of objects up to 60 lbs. .

Prolonged walking.

Continuous eye-hand-foot coordination with frequent fingering, handling and reaching.

Manual finger dexterity.

Skills/Knowledge:

Strong verbal communication skills.

Ability to work with a team and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines and standard acceptable practices.

Computer literate with working knowledge of MS applications, particularly Outlook.
Education/Training:
-
High school diploma or equivalent.
-
Valid U.S. driver’s license with Hawaii state laws and regulations.

Previous inventory management experience preferred.
Experience:
-
At least 1 year of customer service experience dealing with people.
-
At least 1 year of supply or material management experience preferred.
