There is an urgent need to increase the supply of blood in Hawaii and your help is needed. Kahuku Medical Center is proud to be in partnership with Blood Bank Hawaii to ensure all individuals have access to blood. We are dedicated to aligning with local partners and organizations to maximize the success of all efforts.
There are multiple opportunities throughout the year to show your support for a KMC blood drive. Regardless if you are eligible to donate or not, there is always a need for advocacy and recruiting. Click here to learn more about whether or not you may be a candidate for donating blood.

BLOOD IN HAWAII
There a high demand for Jk3-negative, which is one of the world’s rarest blood types and most often found in Polynesians.
All blood types are appreciated and valued, but O-negative and O-positive blood types are considered essential due to the deficiency.
