Housekeeper

Job Requirements:
Under the direct supervision of the Chief Operations Officer, is responsible for the general cleaning and sanitation of hospital facilities..
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Empties all trash containers and cleans as needed.

Vacuums carpets as needed.

Collects all “sharps containers” and locks in the biohazard shelter.

Checks water for flowers and potted plants.
-
Cleans basin, mirrors, bathtubs and toilets daily, using disinfectant chemical, wipe dries, refills paper towels and toilet tissue dispensers, as needed.

Cleans floors using dust mop and damp mops with disinfectant solution.

Cleans showers daily; cleans and polishes furniture daily.

Cleans windows and screens, as needed.

Follows and abides isolation procedures for Infection Control.

Collects laundry on weekends and holidays only, from various departments and takes to laundry department.

Checks and refills hand soap containers in all bathroom and sink areas.

Scrubs, wipes and wet mops O/R and CSR units.

Complies with all hospital and departmental policies and procedures, safety program requirements, corporate compliance program standards of conduct, all applicable statutes, rules and regulations.

Maintains skills and knowledge through participation in educational programs.

Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Training / Educational / Experience Qualifications:
-
High School Diploma or equivalent
-
One year of housekeeping experience preferred
-
Must have general understating of housekeeping duties
Physical, Communication, Mental and Environmental Demands:

Must be able to understand and follow instructions for safety

Continuous standing and walking
-
Frequent climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling
-
Frequent handling and eye-hand-foot coordination, with some reaching
-
Continuous vision use (corrected vision, wide field vision and color vision)
-
Pushing up to 70 pounds, with frequent pulling, lifting, and carrying to 60 pounds

High concentration, attention to detail and alertness needed
