About
Masina DeCastro, LCSW, is a dedicated and compassionate therapist based on the North Shore, proudly serving the community that shaped her. As an alumna of Kahuku High, Masina is deeply committed to giving back to the area that played a pivotal role in her personal and professional development.
Masina earned her bachelor's degree in social work, during which she interned at the Children's Justice Center, co-facilitating a rape recovery group for teens. She continued her education, obtaining a master's degree in social work with a healthcare emphasis. Her career as a therapist began at a private foster care agency, where she provided individual and family therapy to children in the foster care system and their families.
After earning her clinical license, Masina worked as a night crisis worker at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, providing mental health support and brief therapy in the Emergency Department. This role reinforced her ability to address urgent and complex emotional challenges in high-pressure environments.
As a therapist, Masina is passionate about creating a safe and accepting space for clients to explore their experiences and develop their strengths. She tailors her therapeutic approach to meet the unique needs of each individual, utilizing evidence-based practices such as Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Play/Art Therapy. Her client-centered approach fosters growth, healing, and resilience.
