Tanya Karnavy

About

Dr. Tanya Karnavy is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and received her DDS degree from New York University in 2008. She completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at Kokua Kalihi Valley Health Center, a Pediatric Dentistry Specialty Residency at health centers around the state of Hawai'i, and the one-year LEND (Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities) program at Kapi'olani Hospital.

Growing up, Dr. Karnavy had a cavity on almost all her teeth and had braces twice, her favorite candy was sour patch kids! She saw a pediatric dentist and never had a bad experience, and eventually, learned to take excellent care of her teeth. But, she still occasionally gets a cavity. After several years in private practice in Colorado, she knew she wanted to return to Hawai'i to provide high-quality, gentle comprehensive care with the love and education that all Keiki deserve.

Some of her goals are to inspire children to understand and appreciate the importance of good oral health and an overall healthy lifestyle and to create a positive dental experience and environment. Her hobbies include family, friend time, trying to surf, and taste testing.
