Insurance & Billing

Financial Guidance

At Kahuku Medical Center, we value transparency in the cost of healthcare, and we understand that the complexities of insurance and managing medical bills can sometimes feel overwhelming. We aim to provide meaningful support for patients and families navigating the financial obligations of the care they receive.

Insurance Coverage

The amount of financial coverage you receive depends upon your insurance plan. It's important to know that you may get more than one bill for the same medical visit or a separate billing statement from providers not employed by KMC. For example, you may receive a billing statement from Hawaii Emergency Physicians Association (HEPA) after a visit to our Emergency Department. Questions regarding billing statements from non-KMC parties should be directed to the appropriate billing provider.

Billing and Payment

Managing your medical bills is an essential part of your healthcare journey. We offer several convenient options to help you better understand your statement and pay your bills:

  • Online Bill Payment: Our secure online payment portal allows you to make payments anywhere and anytime. Free to use, no service fees.
  • Billing Inquiries: If you have questions about your bill or need clarification on any itemized services, our billing experts will gladly assist you. You can reach our Billing Department at (808) 380-1420 or info@kmc-hi.org.
  • Financial Assistance: We understand that medical expenses can create financial burdens. If you require financial assistance or need to discuss alternative payment options, please contact our Billing Department and ask for more information on KMC's Community Care Program.
